This one day course is for those who currently manage volunteers, or those who will be implementing a new volunteer strategy. The focus of the day will be to comprehensively review and improve current practices to increase the quality of your volunteering strategy. The course will cover:

  • How to recruit and induct new volunteers
  • How to keep existing and new volunteers motivated using a range of effective strategies
  • To be able to identify the appropriate resources needed to support volunteers – including roles, agreements and handbooks
  • Using supervision to gain high performance from your volunteers
  • Legal considerations for you and your volunteers, including organisational policies

You will have an opportunity to practise skills learnt in a supportive environment, share personal expertise whilst developing an action plan, as well as receive sources of additional information and support.
